Discipleship house application
Are you willing to do whatever it takes?
Our 12-month, Christ-centered residential discipleship program is for men who are ready to surrender to its structure and deepen their walk with the Lord.
Before you apply.
- Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get your life right?
- Are you willing to give up your criminal mentality?
- Are you willing to commit one year to Freeway Ministries?
- Will you put off romantic relationships to work on your relationship with Christ?
If you answered yes, we can help. Approved by the Florida Department of Corrections, our discipleship houses provide safe, structured, and spiritually transformative housing designed to foster lasting spiritual growth, biblical maturity, and life transformation.
Because of the volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond right away. Each application is reviewed carefully, and you may be given additional steps as part of the assessment. Accepted applicants are placed in housing based on the directors’ assessment of what will best help them succeed.
Safe Living Rules of Conduct
What Freeway expects from house guests.
A summary of the agreement every resident signs. The full text, including liability terms, is in the application PDF. Residents are in a transitional living environment, not a landlord–tenant relationship.
- 01 Medications We cannot accept anyone on a medication that could cause another resident to stumble, including psychological or pain medications and mind- or mood-altering substances (K2, kratom, CBD, THC, diet pills, alcohol, and similar).
- 02 Probation and parole We inform probation and parole if anyone violates program rules. That means 100% honesty with community agencies.
- 03 Criminal mentality We do not condone, promote, or encourage “the criminal code.” We help guests become productive, contributing members of society.
- 04 30-day probation No personal phone, electronics, or social media during the first 30 days. Leadership may extend probation if needed.
- 05 Relationships Romantic relationships of any kind are prohibited during the program. We ask for 12 months to build a healthy relationship with Jesus first.
- 06 Work Until hired, guests submit at least 10 job applications each weekday. Jobs must be daytime, Monday–Friday, and not where substances are sold. Bus passes are provided until your first paycheck.
- 07 Accountability Accountability sheets are signed when leaving and coming home every day.
- 08 Drug testing Random and on suspicion, at least twice a month. We never throw people away: those who leave get a path back.
- 09 Searches No locked doors or padlocks. Leadership may search property at any time.
- 10 Discipleship One-on-one mentoring is required, and residents go on to mentor others.
- 11 Serving and volunteering At least 1–2 hours a week serving at community outreaches, including heavy lifting and manual labor.
- 12 Daily schedule Wake-up at 8 AM on weekdays, chores done by 9 PM, and a strict 10 PM curfew.
- 13 Church involvement All Freeway services and meetings, plus Sunday morning and Wednesday night services at our partner church, are mandatory. Residents serve at church at least monthly.
- 14 Denomination We are Baptist in practice. All Christian believers are welcome if they accept our structure and rules.
- 15 House meetings One required meeting a week on a Biblical mindset, taught by leaders from partner churches.
- 16 Personal and prohibited items Bring a Bible, books, bedding, clothing, and hygiene items. No furniture, TVs, game systems, weapons, pornography, or secular music. A phone is permitted only after probation and with fees current.
- 17 Conduct and housekeeping No foul language. Daily hygiene, weekly bedding, assigned chores, and no food in rooms.
- 18 Driving Most residents don’t drive for at least six months. A valid license and insurance are required.
- 19 Food Residents provide their own food.
- 20 Offenses We cannot accept anyone with a sexual offense, a protection order against them, or domestic assaults in the community.
- 21 Fees Men pay $450 a month in service fees; the first month is due on arrival. Falling $600 behind means leaving the house. Fees are not refunded if you leave without 30 days’ notice.
